Our summer plan: 82 Peaks of the Alps

We have set up this blog to allow family and friends to follow our progress this summer as we set off on our big adventure!  At the beginning of June we are travelling to the Alps for three months, with an ambition to climb all the peaks over 4000m based on the UIAA list of 82.
We will be keeping this page updated with stories and photos as often as possible, so check back to hear our latest news!

We are going to start in the North East, with "Piz Bernina" and head South-West towards "Barre des Ecrins", altering our plans as per the weather. We will be returning to the valleys between groups of climbs, occasionally using uplifts, and spending the nights either bivvying or in huts.

The next couple of weeks will be full of last minute planning, alongside finishing of our hospital attachments to complete the year of medical school. We shall drive to Switzerland on 1st June, giving us 100 days in the Alps before returning for University in September.

Here's hoping for a summer full of brilliant sunshine, perfect conditions and 82 summits!

With thanks to Alpkit, MCofS, sportscotland and the Julie Tullis Memorial Award.
